Kate was born in Dublin, Ireland, to a family of renowned actors. Her parents, Stephen Brennan and Martina Stanley, are well-known figures in the Irish acting scene. Kate's grandfather, Denis Brennan, was one of the original radio stars, and her grandmother, Daphne Carrol/Brennan, was a talented actress who appeared in various TV shows, including the popular series "Strumpet City".
Kate's aunts, Jane Brennan and Barbara Brennan, are also accomplished actresses, with Jane having appeared in the hit TV show "Tudors" and Barbara starring in the film "Veronica Guerin". Kate's early introduction to the world of acting was through her training at Young Peoples Theatre as a child. She later studied Drama and Theatre at Trinity College for two years before deciding to pursue her career.
After taking a year-long break from acting in New York, where she discovered her passion for singing and songwriting, Kate returned to Ireland and began her acting career in theatre. She has since worked extensively with various theatre companies, including the Abbey Theatre, National Theatre Studio, and Arcola in London.
In 2011, Kate was cast in Kirsten Sheridan's critically acclaimed film "Dollhouse", which premiered at the Berlinale and SXSW festival in Austin, Texas. Her subsequent roles have been predominantly in film, including a Hallmark production alongside Adrian Pasdar and Amy Hubermann, and a starring role opposite Jack Reynor. Kate's latest project, "Dublin in Pieces", premiered at the 2012 Galway Film Fleadh, and she has since signed with Insight Entertainment in Los Angeles.
