Biography

Kasey Rogers, born Josie Imogene Rogers, was the daughter of Ina Mae (Mocabee) and Eben Elijah Rogers, and her early life was marked by a move to California at the tender age of two and a half. This relocation would set the stage for her future endeavors.

As a youngster, Rogers earned the nickname "Casey" due to her exceptional skill with a baseball bat, impressing her neighborhood playmates with her ability to hit the ball farther than anyone else in her grammar school, save for Robert Lewis, with whom she shared a competitive spirit as opposing captains of their sixth-grade baseball teams. Later, Rogers would modify the "C" in her nickname to a "K," adopting the moniker Kasey Rogers.

During her stint at Paramount in the late 1940s and early 1950s, Rogers was rechristened Laura Elliott, but she would soon revert back to her original stage name upon leaving the studio. Throughout her life, Rogers was a twice-married woman and the mother of four, as well as a grandmother. As she navigated the entertainment industry, Rogers turned her attention to writing and development, even proposing a new TV series titled Son of a Witch.
