Kasem Hoxha was born on August 12, 1968, in Tirana, Albania, a country then suffering under the brutal communist regime of Enver Hoxha, who had led the nation into bankruptcy and suppressed any foreign influence.
As a child, Kasem spent his early years between the ages of four and six with his grandparents in the mountains, only returning home to attend school. This period of his life was marked by poverty, as he was one of five children in a family struggling to survive.
Kasem's father died of lung cancer at a young age, leaving the family to rely on each other for support. It was during this difficult time that Kasem found solace in acting and a sense of purpose, which would stay with him throughout his life.
In 1988, Kasem completed his military service in the northern mountains of Albania, where he honed his skills in Morse code and telegraphing, earning him a position in the telegraph department.
After completing his military service in 1990, Kasem joined a protest group planning to flee Albania, inspired by the revolts and uprisings in Eastern Europe against communist regimes. He was forced to leave his family and friends behind, unable to say goodbye, and made his way to the German embassy, where thousands of refugees were waiting for their fate.
Kasem was rescued by NATO and taken to various countries, eventually arriving in Aschaffenburg, Germany in 1990. Despite not speaking German, he found work at a paper company, developed his skills, and was promoted to a senior position. In 1993, he met his girlfriend and her family, who welcomed him warmly and encouraged his development.
Kasem then trained to become a dental technician and began a career as an actor. From 1998 to 2002, he studied acting at the Actor's Company in Aschaffenburg, completing further qualifications in Method Acting, Sens Memory, and Acting according to Uta Hagen.
