Biography

Karyn Parsons embarked on a journey in the world of acting at the tender age of thirteen, marking the beginning of a illustrious career that would span decades to come. Her first foray into television was in the NBC drama, The Bronx Zoo, which premiered in 1987, setting the stage for her future success.

However, it was her role as Will Smith's cousin, Hilary Banks, on the NBC sitcom, The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air, in 1990, that truly cemented her status as a rising star. During the show's six-year run, Parsons had the opportunity to hone her craft, taking on various film roles, including the 1992 comedy, Class Act, and the 1995 action-packed movie, Major Payne.

Following the conclusion of The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air, Parsons went on to star in the short-lived sitcom, Lush Life, alongside Lori Petty, although the show was unfortunately canceled after only three episodes. Undeterred, she continued to pursue her passion for acting, landing her first lead role in the award-winning film, Mixing Nia, in 1998.

Parsons' subsequent career saw her guest-star in various TV sitcoms before taking on the lead role in the 2002 film, 13 Moons, where she met her future husband, director Alexandre Rockwell. The couple tied the knot in 2003 and went on to welcome a child, eventually settling down in New York, where they currently reside.
