Karlene Crockett's illustrious career in the entertainment industry began with her stage appearances, followed by a notable five-year stint on the iconic nighttime soap opera, Dallas, where she captivated audiences with her portrayal of "Muriel Gillis" from 1979 to 1983. Prior to her soap opera success, she had already made a name for herself in television with a 1981 appearance in the television film, Death of a Centerfold: The Dorothy Stratten Story, alongside Jamie Lee Curtis.
In the same year, Crockett also co-starred in the motion picture, Charlie Chan and the Curse of the Dragon Queen. Her impressive performance as "Lisl Gilbert" in the 1981 television film, A Matter of Time, earned her an Emmy award, solidifying her reputation as a talented actress.
