Norwegian revue actress, born to a family of actors, daughter of Signe Heide Steen and Harald Steen, made her film debut at the tender age of six, and began her stage career in 1930. For many years, she was engaged at the renowned Chat Noir and Edderkoppen theaters in Oslo, leaving an indelible mark on the Norwegian revue scene.
One of her most memorable performances was a heart-wrenching sketch about two vagrants in a public park, alongside the outstanding Arvid Nilssen, which is arguably one of the best performances ever delivered at a Norwegian revue theater.
Moviegoers will fondly remember her hilarious scooter ride alongside comedian Willie Hoel in the comedy "Støv på hjernen" (1959).
As a singer of revue songs, she enjoyed immense popularity, with her hit song "Dethender så mangt på Hovedøen" selling over 50,000 copies.
After her husband's passing in 1970, she stepped away from the public eye until 1980, when she made a triumphant comeback at the 70th birthday celebration of her dear friend and colleague, comedian Leif Juster.
