Karen's life journey began in Buffalo, New York, where she spent her early years before relocating to Lake George, New York at the tender age of nine. It was during her childhood in Lake George that she first discovered her passion for the performing arts, landing roles with the esteemed Lake George Youth Theatre in the late 1970s.
As she grew older, Karen's academic pursuits led her to Vassar College, where she earned her degree cum laude in drama, receiving the prestigious Molly Thatcher Kazan Memorial Prize for her outstanding achievements in Theatre Arts. Following her graduation in May 1987, Karen made the bold decision to relocate to New York City, immersing herself in the city's vibrant acting scene.
For several years, Karen honed her craft in both film and theatre, before taking a detour to pursue a master's degree in health advocacy at Sarah Lawrence College in 1998. This unique combination of artistic expression and advocacy has allowed Karen to cultivate a multifaceted career, one that extends far beyond the realm of acting.
In addition to her professional endeavors, Karen is also an accomplished writer, and her debut book, Having My Cake: The Mastery of Mindful Eating, was published last summer.
