Karen Kopins Shaw is a captivating former actress and model who reached the pinnacle of her career in the mid-1980s. Born on October 10, 1958, in Ridgefield, Connecticut, she was destined for greatness.
After graduating from Marymount College, Kopins made the bold decision to relocate to California to pursue a career in acting. Her big break came between 1983 and 1984, when she landed guest spots on several popular TV shows, including The Fall Guy, Riptide, T.J. Hooker, and Knight Rider.
In 1985, Kopins made her feature film debut in the musical Fast Forward, followed by a leading role in the horror comedy Once Bitten alongside Jim Carrey. She also starred in Creator opposite Peter O'Toole and Jake Speed. That same year, she appeared in the second half of season 11 of Dallas, playing the role of Bobby Ewing's girlfriend.
However, Kopins' acting career began to slow down, and she mostly limited herself to guest-starring roles on shows such as The A-Team, Full House, and Designing Women. Unfortunately, she retired from acting in 1994.
Outside of her acting career, Kopins has had a successful modeling career, having been crowned Miss Connecticut 1977. She has also appeared in numerous commercials, print ads, and has been a crusader against Lyme disease.
Kopins is married to residential contractor Mark Shaw and they have four children together. They reside in Redding, Connecticut.
