Karen Knox is a multifaceted creative force based in North America, boasting an impressive portfolio as a director, actor, and writer. She has demonstrated her exceptional leadership skills by serving as the showrunner for several notable projects, including Slo Pitch (IFC/AMC+),HOMESCHOOLED (CBC),and BARBELLE (Shaftesbury),for multiple seasons.
Knox's cinematic endeavors have garnered significant attention, with her sophomore feature film WE FORGOT TO BREAK UP premiering at BFI Flare 2024 and serving as the closing gala film for Inside Out at TIFF. Her latest film, THE YEAR OF STARING AT NOSES, which she wrote, directed, and starred in, premiered at SLAMDANCE 2024, followed by screenings at Atlanta, CUFF (where it won the best short award),and Mammoth Film Festival.
Knox's critically acclaimed first feature, ADULT ADOPTION, premiered at the Glasgow Film Festival and received a theatrical release in North America. She has also directed and acted in several projects for TUBI, including Twin Lies and Wynonna Earp Vengeance.
As an actor, Knox is perhaps most recognized for her role alongside Oscar nominee Gabourey Sidibe in Paramount's All I Didn't Want For Christmas. Her additional acting credits include appearances in SYFY's Letters to Satan Claus, triple A video games such as Assassin's Creed, Watch Dogs, and Fry Cry, as well as HOMESCHOOLED (CBC),Slo Pitch (IFC/AMC+),and BARBELLE (Shaftesbury).
Knox has also made a name for herself as a director, writer, and actor through her company Boss & Co. She has created several shorts, including Borderline (Dances With Films),Case of the Massey Bodice Ripping (winner of best short film at Venice Short Film Festival and Budapest Independent Film Festival),Damage Control (best short at Toronto Pendance Festival),The Fates (TIFF),and the controversial online heist film Cons & Pros, which debuted on VICE.com in January 2020.
