Kamran Qureshi is a renowned British film and television director, producer, and media academic, holding a PhD in professional practice film, TV, and media from the University of East Anglia in the UK.
He directed the award-winning romantic drama feature film Only Love Matters, which made history as the first fiction feature film set in the United Kingdom to focus on intersex characters, shedding light on a long-neglected and misunderstood topic. The film received numerous prestigious awards at international film festivals, including Best Feature, Best Director, Best Messages, and Best Original Idea.
Kamran Qureshi has received numerous accolades, including the Best Feature Film Director, Best Feature Film, Best Director Series, Best TV Series, and Best Talk Show Award at the Lux Style Awards. He has also been a four-time nominee for Best TV Director Series and a nominee for Best TV Producer Series.
As a professor, Kamran teaches MA & BA Film, Television, and Creative Practice at the School of Art, Media, and American Studies at the University of East Anglia. He holds a background in economics, international relations, advertising, marketing, and formal training in filmmaking from premier UK film schools, including the National Film & Television School, London Film School, and London Film Academy.
Kamran is a founding member of KQ Movies Ltd and Evergreen Media Europe Ltd. In 2002, he won the Best TV Talk Show Award for Ariel Mothers, a topical discussion show about motherhood, sponsored by Procter & Gamble.
Some of his notable works include the critically acclaimed film Murad (Desire),which won Best Director and Best Telefilm Award at the Indus Telefilm Festival in 2003, and the 32-part television drama series Moorat (Idol),which received several nominations at the 4th Lux Style Awards in 2005.
Kamran's other notable projects include the TV drama series Riyasat (Kingdom of Hearts),which won Best TV Series Award at the 5th Lux Style Awards in 2006, and the TV series Ishq Ki Inteha (Unbounded Love),which received nominations at the 9th Lux Style Awards in 2010.
Kamran has also worked as a Digital video effects designer, film editor, aerial/handheld cinematographer, and crane and Jib operator. He is married to Dr. Iram Qureshi, a director/producer, and they have three lovely daughters.
