Kabir Bhatia is a renowned filmmaker with over 26 years of experience in the entertainment industry. Born in Mumbai, India, he has made a significant impact on the film industry in Malaysia, where he has spent the last 20 years.
Bhatia began his career in the entertainment industry at UTV-Mumbai in 1992, where he worked as a director, writer, and executive producer. He honed his skills in TV and eventually worked across all platforms. In 2002, he moved to Malaysia when the UTV GROUP set up its headquarters in the ASEAN region.
From 2002 to 2012, Bhatia was a partner and managing director of Filmscape, a respected production house in Malaysia. During his tenure, he successfully ventured into commercials, public service announcements, and political campaigns, in addition to his core business of TV and film production.
Throughout his career, Bhatia has directed and produced numerous ads, travelogues, fiction for television, and feature films across the ASEAN region, including Indonesia and Singapore. He ended his partnership with Filmscape to focus on fewer projects.
