Biography

Born in the vibrant city of Memphis, Tennessee in the year 1934, Junior Wells emerged as one of the most prominent blues harmonica players in Chicago following the conclusion of World War II. His remarkable talent was heavily influenced by the legendary Sonny Boy Williamson, as well as Walter Jacobs, better known as the renowned blues harmonica virtuoso "Little Walter". Wells played a pivotal role in shaping the distinctive sound of the harmonica during the 1950s, initially as the frontman of his own group, the Aces, and later alongside the illustrious blues guitarist Buddy Guy and the iconic Muddy Waters.
