Biography

Jun Aristorenas, a multifaceted individual with a rich background in the performing arts, began his journey in the entertainment industry by showcasing his singing and dancing talents on stage.

In 1960, he embarked on a thrilling adventure, touring the Asia-Pacific region and Las Vegas as part of a vaudeville troupe, where he honed his skills and gained valuable experience.

His foray into cinema commenced with a walk-on part in Sampaguita Pictures' Lupang Kayumanggi (1955),which led to his becoming a bit player in Kulang Sa Pito, Sobra Sa Walo (1956).

After being formally introduced in Kardong Kidlat (1965),Aristorenas snagged a lead role in Dugong Tigre (1965). This success propelled him to found his own production outfit, Junar Productions, which saw its first venture being Dugong Kayumanggi (1967).

This title was an homage to his lucky acting debut, and it marked the beginning of a long and illustrious career in the film industry. Aristorenas went on to appear in numerous films, including Simarron Brothers (1968),Magnum Barracuda (1968),Cuadro de Jack (1968),Soliman (1970),Guadalupe (1971),Ang Mababangis (1971),Pulang Lupa (1971),San Cristobal (1971),Kampilan (1972),Apat na Bagwis (1972),Buhay Maynila (1972),Dimas Guerrero (1973),Santa Fe (1973),Isang Kumot, Tatlong Unan (1985),and Baril at Balisong (1986).

One of his most notable roles was in the campy prison-movie She Devils in Chains (1976) by Cirio H. Santiago, where he joined the Fil-Am cast. Aristorenas also appeared in Pag Oras Mo, Oras Mo Na (2000),alongside Phillip Salvador and Sunshine Cruz, as well as Cara y Cruz (1996),starring Raymart Santiago and Dennis Padilla.

He received the prestigious Rajah Soliman award from the 1970 Manila Film Festival as Best Director for Dimasalang (1970) and was nominated by the Film Academy of Movie Arts & Sciences (FAMAS) as best actor for his performance in Elias, Basilio at Sisa (1972).
