Julie, a native of New York, made a significant move to California with her family in 1979. As a young girl, she was an accomplished gymnast, competing in the U.S. Gymnastic Federation. This early start in athletics laid the foundation for her future endeavors.
In 1982, Julie made her television debut, playing the role of Ricky Schroder's girlfriend on NBC's popular sitcom, Silver Spoons. This breakthrough performance led to a string of guest star appearances and numerous film roles, catapulting her to stardom.
In 1983, Julie's talent was recognized when she won the prestigious Bronze Halo award from the Southern California Motion Picture Council for Best Up & Coming Young Actress. Her outstanding work also earned her a nomination for a Young Artist Award for her guest starring role on television.
The following year, Julie secured her first series regular role on the television series Personal & Confidential. After completing her high school education, Julie was awarded a scholarship to attend the esteemed American Academy of Dramatic Arts, West. She spent one year honing her craft at AADA before landing the role of Tawny Richards on NBC's Santa Barbara in 1984.
Julie's impressive resume also includes starring roles on the UPN series A.J.'s Time Travelers, where she played the character Maria, and numerous other television and film projects. In 1997, Julie took on a new challenge, co-producing and directing the feature film The Legend of Cryin' Ryan, which premiered in 1998.
Julie's hard work and dedication paid off when she shared the award for Best Director of a Feature Film at the Riverrun International Film Festival in September 1998. Cryin' Ryan also won the top honor, Best Picture. Today, Julie resides outside of Los Angeles with her husband, Patrick, and their son. She enjoys spending quality time with her loved ones, traveling with friends, and pursuing her passions for snowboarding and surfing.
