Juhi Chawla, a talented actress, was born on November 13, 1967, in Ludhiana, Punjab, India, to a family of Punjabi-speaking parents, Dr. S. Chawla, and Gujarati-speaking mother, Mona. She is the daughter of Dr. S. Chawla, a renowned medical professional, and Mona, a homemaker. Juhi has a younger brother named Sanjeev, and her mother sadly passed away in an accident in 1998 while Juhi was filming for the movie 'Duplicate'.
After completing her schooling in Ludhiana, the Chawla family relocated to Bombay, Maharashtra, India, where Juhi attended Sydenham College. She graduated and went on to participate in the prestigious Miss India competition, where she was crowned 'Miss India 1984', succeeding Miss India 1983, Rekha Hande.
Juhi's acting career began with her debut role as Zarina in the 1986 release 'Sultanat'.
