Biography

Judy Harriet Spiegelman, a talented individual, was born in Los Angeles to Jewish immigrant parents from Poland who arrived in America before World War II. She was a multi-faceted individual with a passion for the arts and sports. Her early life was marked by her dedication to classical piano and voice, which culminated in a recital at the prestigious Carnegie Hall.

In addition to her musical pursuits, Judy was an accomplished athlete, participating in sports such as tennis, riding, and swimming. Her athletic abilities and charming personality led her to become a Mouseketeer on the iconic Mickey Mouse Club in 1955.

Although she was dropped from the lineup the following year, Judy continued to pursue her passion for music and acting. She appeared in a few movies, including "Bop Girl Goes Calypso," where she sang the duet "Hard Rock Candy Baby" with Judy Tyler.

In 1958, Judy released two 45 rpm singles, "Tall Paul/'Nuff Said" and "La Paloma/Espana," on the Surf label. The following year, she recorded "Just A Guy To Love Me/ICried For The Last Time" and also sang "The Night Rock 'n' Roll Died" in the Bing Crosby and Debbie Reynolds movie "Say One For Me."

Judy's songwriting skills were showcased in her co-write "I Promise You" with Bruce Johnston, which was featured in the movie "Ghost of Dragstrip Hollow." She continued to release music throughout the early 1960s, including "Goliath (Big Man)/The Music of Love" and "Buffalo Bop/Restless Doll" for American International Records, as well as "Waiting for Joe/She's Got Everything" and "Road to Nowhere/Don't" on Columbia.

In 1964, Judy married Tony Richman and had two daughters, bringing her early years of entertainment and sports to a close as she embarked on a new chapter in her life.
