Joshua Sanchez is a filmmaker whose debut feature film, FOUR, made a significant impact on the festival circuit, taking home the Best Performance Award at the Los Angeles Film Festival and the Best Feature Film prize at the Urbanworld Film Festival, while also garnering a nomination for an Independent Spirit Award.
Sanchez has received grants from esteemed organizations, including the Jerome Foundation and HBO, in recognition of his outstanding work in the film and video mediums.
One of his notable projects is the experimental film series Screentests, which premiered at PS122 in New York City in 2012.
Originally from Houston, Texas, Sanchez has since made Brooklyn, New York, his home and base of operations.
In recent years, he has been honored with two prestigious awards: the 2016-2017 Hodder Fellowship from Princeton University's Lewis Center for the Arts and the New York Foundation for the Arts Artists' Fellowship in Playwriting/Screenwriting.
