Joshua then made the decision to relocate to Boston, Massachusetts, to attend Emerson College and study Theater and Film. After completing his education, he remained in Boston and began working in the film and television production industry.

In 2001, Joshua made the bold decision to relocate to Los Angeles, California, where he began a new career as a graphic novelist. This marked a significant shift in his professional trajectory, as he transitioned from working behind the scenes to becoming a creative force in the industry.

Joshua's work as a graphic novelist has been met with critical acclaim, with his first graphic novel, Elk's Run, earning seven Harvey Award nominations, including Best New Talent, Best Writer, and Best Series. His subsequent graphic novel, Tumor, was nominated for the prestigious Eisner Award, and his comic book series, Echoes, received several Harvey Award nominations.
