Josh Odsess-Rubin is a multifaceted artist, exceling in various roles as an actor, writer, director, and improviser. His impressive stage credits include performances at renowned theaters such as the Tony-Award-Winning South Coast Repertory, Cincinnati Playhouse in the Park, and Yale Repertory Theatre, showcasing his versatility in a wide range of roles.
After completing his education in theatre, film, politics, English, and history at Yale University, Josh relocated to New York City, where he honed his craft at esteemed institutions like Playwrights Horizons, Ars Nova, HERE, Culture Project, Dixon Place, and the New York Fringe Festival. He frequently collaborated on new work development.
Josh further refined his skills by graduating from the Upright Citizens Brigade and earning a Master of Fine Arts in Acting from the University of California, Irvine's highly selective and nationally recognized graduate program.
Currently based in Los Angeles, Josh divides his time between the stage and screen. Recent performances include appearances at A Noise Within, Marin Theatre Company, and Portland Stage, as well as scenes opposite Jean Smart on "Hacks" and Rose Byrne on "Physical." He has also appeared in commercials for various brands, such as Lactaid and Men's Wearhouse.
Throughout his career, Josh has received numerous accolades, including Best Actor nominations from the FirstGlance Film Festival and the Theatre Tampa Bay Awards, as well as winning the Outstanding Performance by a Featured Actor award from StageSceneLA. Additionally, he has served as an Ovations award voter and a member of the leadership committee of LA's Theatre of NOTE.
