One of the most beloved and esteemed figures in the Hong Kong film community, renowned for her illustrious acting career, stable family life, and unwavering dedication to charitable endeavors, Siao has consistently navigated successive transformations with ease and aplomb. Beginning her cinematic journey at the tender age of seven, she effortlessly transitioned from child star to leading lady, and ultimately, to a distinguished character actress.
In 1968, Siao took a temporary hiatus from acting to pursue higher education at Seton Hall University in New Jersey, where she graduated with honors in Communications in 1973. Following her return to Hong Kong, she ventured into TV production work and resumed her film acting career, albeit with certain limitations imposed by her hearing disability.
In the early 1980s, Siao married a prominent Hong Kong media executive, with whom she shares two daughters. In addition to her family life and film work, Siao has also achieved significant academic milestones, earning a Master's degree in Child Psychology in 1998 from Regis University in Denver.
Furthermore, in 1999, Siao fulfilled her lifelong dream of establishing the End Child Sexual Abuse Foundation, an organization she currently heads, demonstrating her unwavering commitment to the well-being and protection of children.
