Biography

Jonathan Stuart Leibowitz, better known as Jon Stewart, was born in the vibrant city of New York, New York, to a family that proudly carries the Ashkenazi Jewish heritage from Austria, Ukraine, Poland, and Belarus. His childhood was marked by a move to Lawrenceville, New Jersey, where he spent his formative years.

Stewart's academic pursuits led him to the esteemed College of William and Mary in Williamsburg, Virginia, where he earned his degree in 1984. His early career saw him making a breakthrough on The Larry Sanders Show in 1992, where he played a recurring role as the "Guest Host" of the show, becoming an integral part of the program's fabric.

Fast forward to the 2000s, and Stewart's star began to shine brightly as he took the reins as the host of The Daily Show on Comedy Central, succeeding Craig Kilborn in 1999. With his quick wit, sharp tongue, and incisive humor, he captured the hearts of audiences, tackling politics and current events with his signature sarcastic and sardonic style.

In his personal life, Stewart is a devoted husband to his wife, Tracey, and a proud father of two children.
