Jon Rafman, born in 1981, is a multifaceted creative force, simultaneously donning the hats of artist, filmmaker, and essayist. His artistic endeavors revolve around the profound emotional, social, and existential implications of technology on modern society, giving rise to a diverse range of thought-provoking works.
Rafman's artistic prowess has garnered widespread international recognition, with his pieces being showcased at prestigious institutions such as the Musée d'art contemporain de Montréal in 2015. One of his most notable online projects, 9-Eyes, has been ongoing since 2009, featuring a vast collection of found images sourced from Google Street View.
In addition to his visual artistry, Rafman has also ventured into the realm of music, collaborating with esteemed experimental musician Oneohtrix Point Never, also known as Daniel Lopatin, in September 2013. Together, they created a music video for Still Life, released in conjunction with Lopatin's album R Plus Seven on Warp Records.
