Under the guidance of the experienced Nick Dinsmore, Jeter first stepped into the wrestling ring in 2001, commencing a journey that would take him to the pinnacle of success. His early days saw him hone his skills in Ohio Valley Wrestling (OVW),which ultimately led to his signing of a developmental contract with WWE in 2003.

Throughout his tenure at OVW, Jeter forged an unbreakable bond with Matt Cappotelli, and together they achieved the OVW Southern Tag Team Championship. His impressive run continued as he claimed the OVW Heavyweight Championship in singles competition, solidifying his status as a force to be reckoned with in the wrestling world.
