John Witherspoon was a renowned African-American actor hailing from the vibrant city of Detroit, Michigan, who left an indelible mark on the entertainment industry through his versatility and range. He is perhaps most iconic for his portrayal of Granddad in the critically acclaimed animated series The Boondocks, as well as his memorable role as Willie Jones in the popular Friday trilogy.
