Biography

John, a talented individual, was born in the United Kingdom and later resided in South Africa, where he grew up in Cape Town.

At the tender age of nine, John, along with his family, migrated to New Zealand, driven by their strong opposition to apartheid.

As a young adult, John began his career in Auckland's nightlife scene, performing live on the city's nightclub circuit at the age of nineteen.

Within a few short months, he was making appearances on local television variety shows, garnering a loyal following among the audience.

By the age of twenty-one, John had made his debut in a major stage production, and soon combined his club and television work with repertory theatre.

He received widespread acclaim for his portrayal of Charlie Brown in "You're a Good Man Charlie Brown," and later showcased his versatility by taking on the role of Emory in Matt Crowley's "The Boys in the Band."

Over the years, John continued to appear on stage and in clubs, but in 1976, he made the bold decision to switch to the business side of the industry, joining the local branch of RCA records in sales.

After just 18 months, John was transferred to RCA's regional headquarters in Sydney, Australia, where he quickly rose through the ranks in both A&R and marketing.

Following the birth of his daughter, John returned to New Zealand and took up a position as head of marketing for a major local home video distributor, playing a pioneering role in the development of the industry.

In 1985, John left the corporate world to start his own business, and seven years later, he felt the urge to return to performing, auditioning for local commercials.

Within a matter of weeks, John had landed several high-profile roles, and his talent was once again recognized.

The next phase of his performing career saw him appear in numerous local film and television productions, as well as international projects that reached audiences worldwide.

John has been married to his loving wife for an impressive 44 years, and together they have a daughter, two stepsons, and reside in Auckland, New Zealand.
