John Strysik, a multifaceted creative force, made his mark in the television industry as a director and writer on the popular syndicated series TALES FROM THE DARKSIDE, spanning all four seasons.
In addition to his work on TALES FROM THE DARKSIDE, Strysik also directed episodes of MONSTERS and ABC's revival of LAND OF THE LOST, showcasing his versatility as a director.
Strysik's career began in Chicago, where he adapted the works of renowned authors H.P. Lovecraft and Franz Kafka for stage productions, while also honing his skills in the editing department by working on industrial films and television commercials.
Strysik's talents extend beyond television, as he penned the screenplay for the critically acclaimed film STUCK, directed by Stuart Gordon and starring Mena Suvari and Stephen Rea. The film received numerous accolades, including the San Francisco Indiefest's Staff Prize and the Brussels International Festival of Fantasy Film's Silver Raven.
Beyond his work in film and television, Strysik has also made a name for himself as a published author. His fantasy novel, A HALLOW HEART, has garnered attention, as well as his co-written book, LURKER IN THE LOBBY - A Guide to the Cinema of H.P. Lovecraft.
Strysik's theatrical endeavors include the play VILLAINY ~or~ Holmes' Own Story, which premiered at the Whitefire Theatre and earned three Valley Theatre Award nominations. The play tells the chilling tale of America's first serial killer, H.H. Holmes.
Today, Strysik resides in Los Angeles, where he continues to cultivate his creative pursuits.
