Biography

John S. Davies was born in Regensburg, Germany, to Richard, an American diplomat, and his wife Jean Davies. His early life was marked by a nomadic existence, as he grew up in American Embassies all over the world and in and around Washington, DC. This eclectic upbringing would later influence his creative pursuits.

Davies' academic journey began at San Jose State University, where he earned a Bachelor's Degree in Theater in 1978. He then relocated to Dallas, Texas, to pursue a Master of Fine Arts degree at the Dallas Theater Center under the guidance of renowned director Paul Baker. In June 1982, he was awarded his MFA and has since dedicated himself to a career in acting, directing, and teaching.

Throughout his illustrious career, Davies has appeared in over 60 professional theater productions, showcasing his impressive range as a performer. He has brought to life iconic characters such as Prospero in "The Tempest" and Willy Brandt in Michael Frayn's "Democracy." In addition to his extensive film and television work, Davies has also directed numerous productions, including "Richard III" for Shakespeare Dallas and "T Bone N Weasel" for Circle Theatre Ft Worth.

Davies is represented by the Kim Dawson Agency and teaches college-level acting at KD Actors Conservatory. In his personal life, he is married to TV News Coach Lou Michaels and is the proud father of two sons, Rees, 29, a professional guitarist, and Kelley, 23, a free spirit.
