John Pieplow, a multifaceted artist, began his career performing in Brooklyn waterfront bars at 14, playing alongside Chuck Berry and The Platters.
He attended NYU and the New School, earning a Master's in Film, and occasionally lectured in the Graduate Film Program. His Masters Thesis Film, "Watcher By The Dead," premiered at the Toronto Film Festival.
John directed hundreds of scenes with actors at HB Studios after a chance encounter with Uta Hagen. He also directed and designed films for Broadway productions, including "Lolita," "Baby," and "Terra Nova."
As a producer, writer, and director, John worked on numerous award-winning TV and radio commercials for prominent clients. He directed the Peter Allen Rockefeller Center Fiftieth Anniversary Show, the Coty Awards, and the Black Designer of the Year awards show at FIT.
John directed and produced the Michael Jackson/Pepsi campaign launch, the most significant corporate collaboration with a musical artist. He also directed and collaborated on the play "Red River Rats," which was nominated for the Pulitzer Prize.
By accident, John wrote and directed the comedy-spoof sci-fi/martial arts film "Jurassic Women," which became a favorite at the American Film Market and pre-sold in the millions.
John directed the theatrically released feature "StrangeLand," starring Kevin Gage, Elizabeth Pena, Amy Smart, Linda Cardellini, and Robert England, which soon became a cult film.
As a member of the WGA and DGA, John has written and re-written dozens of movie scripts and TV shows. He has also written and performed his own music, releasing two albums and winning numerous music awards.
John's music can be found on Prime, Apple, Amazon, and Spotify, and he has a radio station called "John Pieplow Radio," which broadcasts 24 hours a day.
