John was born in Wigan, a town located in the Greater Manchester region, and later attended The University of Salford to pursue a Bachelor of Arts degree in Media Performance, which he successfully completed in 2002.
Throughout his career, John has garnered critical acclaim for his performances in various Off West End theatre productions, ultimately collaborating with renowned playwright and screenwriter Anna Jordan, who is also known for her work on the hit HBO series Succession. One of his most notable roles was in the production of "Chicken Shop" at London's Park Theatre, where he portrayed the character of Leko, a Hungarian sex trafficker, to widespread critical acclaim. The production went on to win awards, with John's performance leaving both reviewers and audience members physically shaken.
John has also been involved in several notable productions, including the reopening of the Bush Theatre as part of the "Black Lives, Black Words" initiative. In this production, he played the role of Officer Encinia, a character inspired by the American Deep South, ensuring that the memory of Sandra Bland would live on in the audience.
In addition to his work in the theatre world, John has also established himself as a versatile voiceover artist, providing voiceovers for a range of TV channels, including ITV2, Channel 5, Discovery, Tru TV, and Virgin 1.
John is married to Theatre Director Jemma Gross and they have one child together.
