John Kokken is an Indian actor born on March 27, 1981, at Breach Candy Hospital in Mumbai, Maharashtra. He is known for his work in the South Indian film industry. John Kokken uses his father's name, John Joseph Kokken, as his screen name to cherish his father.
John Kokken was born to John Joseph Kokken and Thressiamma John Kokken. His father was a retired Vice-Principal of a college, and his mother was a retired Matron who worked in the Middle East for 13 years. John Kokken has two younger siblings, Lewis and Anderson. He was mostly inspired by his father, who raised his three sons alone while his wife worked as a nurse in the Middle East. He was also inspired by his mother for sacrificing her married life and staying away from her husband and children to provide for the family.
John Kokken studied at St. Paul's school in Kerala till the 3rd standard and then at Our Lady of Nazareth High School in Mumbai from the 4th standard till the 10th standard. He passed SSC in 1996 and then completed his 12th standard (Science) from M. V. L.U. college in Mumbai. He pursued a 3-year Diploma in Hotel Management & Catering Technology from Anjuman-I-Islam college of Hotel Management & Catering Technology in Mumbai and completed it in 2002.
John Kokken was born into a Roman Catholic family and is not religious but spiritual, owing to his practice of Yoga. His Yoga practice is inspired by the stories of Dr. Rajkumar, which were fondly narrated to him by Dr. Puneeth Rajkumar. As a child, he was obsessed with movies, and his love for movies was fueled by his father, who owned a cinema theatre in Kerala in the 1980s. His neighbor and tuition teacher, Mrs. Jayakrishnan, also further fueled his love for movies.
John Kokken has been married twice. He was first married to actress Meera Vasudevan from 2012 to 2016 and has a son named Ariha Anish Kokken born in 2014. He has been married to actress Pooja Ramachandran since 2019.
