John Hockenberry, a renowned journalist, was born in Dayton, Ohio, but spent his formative years in upstate New York and Michigan. He went on to attend the University of Chicago and the University of Oregon, shaping his intellectual and professional trajectory.
After a 15-year stint in network and cable television, Hockenberry made a triumphant return to public radio, where he was one of the original innovators.
