Biography

John de Lancie's formative years were spent in the city of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, a place that would later influence his artistic endeavors. He was a student at Kent State University, where he achieved a notable distinction by winning a scholarship to the prestigious Juilliard School.

John's father, a professional oboist, was a member of the esteemed Philadelphia Symphony Orchestra, and it was likely his father's passion for music that instilled in John a deep appreciation for the arts. This upbringing would ultimately shape John's path in life, leading him to pursue a career in the entertainment industry.

John de Lancie is perhaps most famously recognized for his role as Eugene Bradford on the popular daytime drama, Days of Our Lives, which first aired in 1965. However, it is his portrayal of the enigmatic and all-powerful Q on Star Trek: The Next Generation, which premiered in 1987, that has cemented his place in the annals of science fiction history.
