Daniel Bunnell began his illustrious career with the Multnomah County Sheriff's Office in 1969, marking the starting point of a remarkable journey that would span an impressive quarter of a century.
Throughout the subsequent 25 years, Bunnell steadily ascended the ranks, demonstrating exceptional leadership skills and earning the respect of his peers. His dedication and hard work ultimately led to his promotion to the prestigious position of Chief Deputy.
When Sheriff Robert G. Skipper's term came to a close in 1994, he graciously appointed Bunnell to succeed him as the head of the agency. On November 30, 1994, Sheriff Bunnell took the oath of office, formally commencing his tenure as the new Sheriff of Multnomah County.
