John Albo, a member of the Writers Guild of America, west, earned his Master's Degree in screenplay writing and film studies from Columbia University. In addition, he studied acting at the prestigious American Academy of Dramatic Arts and directing at the renowned Film Industry Workshops.
His impressive body of work includes the critically acclaimed short film Mortis, which he wrote, produced, directed, and edited. This remarkable film garnered widespread commercial success, entertaining teenage and college audiences in the twenty largest cities across the nation for over three years. The renowned New York film critic, Andrew Sarris, praised Mortis as an "extraordinary and brilliant film."
Albo's success with Mortis earned him a grant from Warner Brothers to produce, write, and direct an imaginative short film called 33-1/3 Groove.
Furthermore, his upcoming feature film, Flexing with Monty, which he wrote and directed, is set to be distributed in 2010.
Additionally, Albo is a partner with Danny De Vito in The Blood Factory, a horror anthology series, for which he has written fifty scripts. Fourteen of these screenplays have been brought to life, including Shade of Sin, Rough Trade, Tattoo, Raw, Avenging Angel, Gargoyle, The Dummy, Burst, Sister Hate, Listen to Me, Oh, Those Lips, The Evil Eye, Poison Tongue, and Deadly Friend.
