Joely Fisher's recent memoir is an unflinching account of her life growing up in the spotlight, known as "The Fishbowl". As the daughter of legendary crooner Eddie Fisher and entertainment icon Connie Stevens, Joely was raised in the Los Angeles area, attending a dozen LA schools, and later studying at the Université de Paris/Sorbonne and Emerson College in Boston.
From a young age, Joely's passion for performing was evident, singing in her Catholic elementary school musical and later making her Broadway debut as "Rizzo" in "Grease!". Her breakout role came as "Paige Clark", Ellen's best friend, on the historic and groundbreaking ABC show "Ellen" (1994),earning her a Golden Globe nomination.
Joely's extensive television credits include starring roles in "Normal, Ohio" (2000),"Wild Card" (2003),"Desperate Housewives" (2004),"Til Death" (2006),and "Last Man Standing" (2011). She has also appeared in numerous films, including "The Mask" (1994),"Mixed Nuts" (1994),"I'll Do Anything" (1994),and "Inspector Gadget" (1999).
In addition to her acting career, Joely is a talented singer and has performed on numerous occasions, including a USO tour with Bob Hope during the Persian Gulf War. She has also written, directed, and performed in multiple one-woman shows and has been featured on the Tony and Academy Awards.
Joely has recently embarked on a directing career, working on television shows, music videos, and PSA campaigns. Her first music video, "Sonte" by European artist Mirud, has gained a million views, and she is on a short list of women called upon to direct multi-camera television for the Disney Channel.
Joely has been married to cinematographer and director Christopher Duddy for over two decades and has five children, including three biological children and two adopted children.
