Joel Hans Embiid, a Cameroonian professional basketball player, currently plays for the Philadelphia 76ers of the National Basketball Association (NBA) and holds triple citizenship, being a citizen of Cameroon, France, and the United States.
Prior to his professional career, Embiid played college basketball for the Kansas Jayhawks for a single year, which ultimately led to his selection as the third overall pick in the 2014 NBA draft by the 76ers.
Unfortunately, his debut was delayed by a series of foot and knee injuries that persisted for two seasons, keeping him sidelined until the 2016-2017 season, when he finally made his NBA debut.
Despite playing only 31 games that season, Embiid's impressive performance earned him a spot on the NBA All-Rookie First Team, showcasing his immense potential and talent in the world of professional basketball.
