Biography

Joe Knee, a talented individual, was born and raised in a small farm town in Central California. He is the third of four children, with his sister being the oldest, and the middle of three brothers. Knee's educational background includes a degree in Radio/Television/Film from BIOLA University, which he earned in the spring of 1999.

During his time at BIOLA, Knee showcased his exceptional skills as a director, earning the Communications Department award for "Best Director" as well as several other festival awards for his work on the film "Something Stranger." This film premiered at the 3rd Annual BIOLA Film Festival, which Knee founded and has since seen grow into its 8th consecutive season.

After graduation, Knee devoted a year to crafting the script for "The Last Leaf" (2001),an adaptation of the renowned short story by American author O. Henry. He then successfully secured over $100,000 in independent financing for the production of the film and relocated to Los Angeles to helm the project at Universal Studios in Hollywood.

"The Last Leaf" screened at the Academy of Motion Pictures, on the Universal back-lot, as well as at Hollywood's historic Laemle theater, garnering three successful screenings before being acquired by HBO. The film is currently being shopped around for domestic licensing and international markets. Additionally, it has aired locally in Los Angeles on the TV show "American Dreams."

Knee is currently developing a feature-length story based on the characters from "The Last Leaf," with him attached to direct. He is also working on other projects, including a slapstick action/comedy feature about a boy's underdeveloped dream to become a stuntman and an episodic drama with Last Chance Productions, which explores the lives and relationships within a group home.

Today, Joe Knee resides and works in Burbank, California, where he continues to pursue his passion for storytelling and filmmaking.
