Biography

Joe Hursley's career as an actor has been marked by his remarkable ability to bring complex characters to life, seamlessly blending comedy, physicality, and drama.

In the internationally recognized short film "Sequence," Hursley received a nod for Best Actor at the Short Shorts Film Festival Japan in 2014, and shared in the overall Best Short win at the Academy-sanctioned LA Shorts Fest in 2013.

Recently, he has been tapped to lead independent films that explore the dual themes of comedy and drama, as well as fantasy and reality. In "The Origins of Wit and Humor," he stars as Les Candalero, a relatable modern-day Woody Allen-esque outsider, while in the upcoming indie feature "Espionage Tonight," he plays a CIA operative on a gritty reality TV show.

Hursley honed his comedic feature skills in blockbuster movies such as "Accepted," "Resident Evil: Extinction," and "Fast and Furious," which ultimately led him to his first starring feature role alongside cult director Penelope Spheeris in "Balls to the Wall" (2011).

His entry into the entertainment industry began with his selection by Ashton Kutcher to bring his subversive sense of humor to both reality prankster series "Punk'd" and "You've Got a Friend."
