Joseph Washington "Jellybean" Bryant, born October 19, 1954, is an American retired professional basketball player, who has transitioned into a successful coaching career, and is also the proud father of the legendary former Los Angeles Lakers shooting guard, Kobe Bryant.
As a coach, Bryant has held the esteemed position of head coach of the Women's National Basketball Association's Los Angeles Sparks, initially serving from August 22, 2005, until April 4, 2007. He made a triumphant return to this role after Jennifer Gillom's departure from the team on July 10, 2011.
Throughout his coaching journey, Bryant has had the opportunity to hone his skills and gain valuable experience in various international settings, including Italy, Japan, and Thailand.
