JW, also known as Jimmie Stafford, is a multifaceted individual with a rich background in the entertainment industry. As a SAG-AFTRA eligible actor and UCB improv alumni, he has had the opportunity to showcase his talents in various roles.
One of his most notable credits is the Netflix animated series, Transformers War For Cybertron Trilogy, where he lends his voice to the character of Hound. This role is particularly significant, as it marks a departure from the previous live-action theatrical releases, in which the character was voiced by John Goodman. Interestingly, JW shares similarities with John Goodman in both vocal gravitas and physical stature, making this role a natural fit for him.
In addition to his work in animation, JW has also appeared in the Lifetime Movie Network's Secrets In The Snow (2020),playing the role of Ned. This project showcases his versatility as an actor and his ability to adapt to different genres and roles.
Born and raised in Northeast Ohio, JW has a strong connection to the region and spent many years calling Cleveland home. During his time in Ohio, he was an active member of the punk and metal music scene, performing in various bands that enjoyed local and regional success.
In addition to his musical pursuits, JW was also a passionate advocate for marriage equality and worked as an award-winning secular wedding officiant. He was also an award-winning educator, earning a bachelor's degree in math and science education. As an educator, JW was dedicated to his students and was known for his innovative teaching methods.
In addition to his teaching duties, JW also had a unique hobby - he was a live play-by-play commentator and announcer for Women's Flat Track Roller Derby. This experience allowed him to combine his love of sports and entertainment, and he quickly became known for his engaging commentary and ability to bring the action to life.
After leaving the teaching profession, JW relocated to Los Angeles, where he now resides and works full-time as a voice actor. With his extensive experience in the entertainment industry, he has developed a unique set of skills that enable him to bring characters to life and connect with audiences in a meaningful way.
