Biography

Jim Lampley is a multifaceted American personality, boasting a diverse range of professional pursuits that have contributed to his widespread recognition and acclaim. As a sportscaster, he is perhaps most notably associated with his role as a blow-by-blow announcer on HBO World Championship Boxing, a position he held for an impressive 30 years.

Throughout his illustrious career, Lampley has had the distinction of covering a record-breaking 14 Olympic Games on U.S. television, with his most recent coverage being the 2008 Summer Olympics in Beijing, China. However, it's worth noting that he did not cover the 2010 Winter Olympics, marking the first time since the 1980 Summer Olympics that he had not been involved in Olympic coverage.
