Jim Corr, a talented musician, is a member of the renowned Irish pop/rock/Celtic group The Corrs, alongside his sisters Sharon Corr, Caroline Corr, and Andrea Corr. Their parents, Gerry Corr and Jean Corr, who were both musicians themselves, played a significant role in nurturing their children's musical talents from a young age.
Jim's musical journey began with learning the piano and guitar at a tender age. By the time he was 15, he was already performing with his parents in Dundalk's bars and clubs, and later went on to play with the renowned Irish traditional singer Dolores Keane. Prior to joining The Corrs, Jim briefly attended music college.
The Corrs' music is a unique blend of traditional Celtic and modern pop, with influences from iconic bands such as the Eagles and the Carpenters. The band's early performances included an audition for the musical film The Commitments in 1991, which caught the attention of the film's musical director John Hughes, who became their manager.
In 1994, The Corrs secured a recording contract with producer David Foster of Atlantic Records, and went on to release their debut album "Forgiven, Not Forgotten" in 1995, followed by "Talk on Corners" in 1997, "In Blue" in 2000, and "Borrowed Heaven" in 2004. To date, the band has sold an impressive 30 million albums worldwide.
The Corrs have had the privilege of performing on tour with some of the biggest names in the music industry, including U2, Celine Dion, and the Rolling Stones. In fact, Mick Jagger of the Rolling Stones has publicly praised the band, stating that they "blew us off our own stage". The Corrs have also made numerous television appearances, including Saturday Night Live, The Tonight Show with Jay Leno, and an MTV-sponsored "Unplugged" video.
