Jill is a multifaceted creative professional with a passion for documentary filmmaking. As a director, producer, and editor, she has dedicated her career to capturing the authentic moments of humanity that connect us all.
Her journey in the entertainment industry began in the theater, where she wrote and produced plays for esteemed companies such as La Mama, the Dublin Fringe, the Public Theater, and Mabou Mines. This experience laid the foundation for her transition to documentary filmmaking.
In 2010, Jill's feature documentary "Dancing Across Borders" premiered on Netflix and Apple TV, marking the beginning of her successful career in the documentary world. Since then, she has produced numerous feature documentaries that have been showcased at prominent film festivals, including Tribeca, DOC NYC, Atlanta, Art Fifa, Newport Beach, Montclair, Miami, Seattle, Woodstock, and Warsaw.
As a producer, Jill has worked on the documentary "Never Too Late: The Doc Severinson Story," which premiered on PBS American Masters in 2020. This project was a collaborative effort between directors Kevin Bright and Jeff Consiglio.
Jill has also written and directed three feature-length documentaries, including "Mr. Chibbs," a 2017 Village Voice Critic's Pick that explores the rise and fall of NBA legend Kenny Anderson. Her other documentaries, "Seat 20D" and "Beyond the Gaze," are deeply personal and introspective, delving into themes of grief, self-expression, and healing.
Jill earned her Master of Fine Arts degree from Hunter College, where she honed her skills in documentary filmmaking. Her latest documentary, "Beyond the Gaze," is her most personal and introspective work to date.
