Jessiline Berry is a multifaceted creative force, boasting a remarkable career as a filmmaker, performer, and founder of FemmeMaker Productions, a pioneering organization dedicated to empowering women in the film industry, both in front of and behind the camera. As the visionary behind FemmeMaker, a concept-to-completion production company, Berry aims to amplify the voices of the voiceless by collaborating with non-profit organizations, small businesses, filmmakers, performing artists, and other media artists.
Throughout her illustrious career, Berry has worn many hats, serving as Producer, Writer, Director, and Editor on a diverse range of projects, including experimental and narrative short films, documentaries, and entertainment television. Her academic credentials are equally impressive, with a Bachelor of Science in Radio, Television, and Film from the University of Texas (1999) and a Bachelor of Arts in Theatre and Dance (2000). Berry further honed her craft by earning a Master of Fine Arts degree from Columbia University's prestigious School of the Arts, specializing in Directing in 2007.
During her time at Columbia, Berry was instrumental in promoting minority involvement in the film industry, working closely with several student groups. She also founded Columbia Women in Film, a student-run organization dedicated to celebrating and promoting women's contributions to cinema. Berry's impressive resume boasts a wide range of credits, including collaborations with Kanalya Pictures, Token Productions, The Texas Council of Administrators of Special Education, Alpha Video, PrimeCut Productions, Teachscape, Character Studies Productions, and Lee Daniels Entertainment.
Since 2007, Berry has worked in Production Finance at BET Networks, while also developing the feature film "That's Good, That's Enough" and the one-hour pilot "Sunshine", which received generous support from The National Black Programming Consortium.
