Jessica Franz is a talented German actress, voiceover artist, and filmmaker who has made a name for herself in both Germany and Hollywood. She began her acting career with ballet lessons at the age of six and went on to win multiple awards in ballroom dancing by the time she was fourteen.
Franz's early start in filmmaking began when her father bought a VHS camera, which enabled her to produce her first short films. She later enrolled in her high school theater program, where she made her stage debut in "The Crucible" and tackled the challenging role of "Mrs. Antrobus" in Thornton Wilder's Pulitzer Prize-winning drama, "The Skin of our Teeth."
After graduating from the International Academy of Performing Arts in Stuttgart in 2002, Franz already had a number of performances under her belt. She appeared in numerous national television shows and films, including "Vaya Con Dios" and "Meet Your Star."
In 2002, Franz took on a role in the sitcom "Schulmaedchen," for which she received much recognition. She also began writing and won the national writing competition SAT.1 Talent Class with her comedic short film script "Dieb is' gut." Her directorial film debut, the suspenseful short "Blind Sushi," was funded by the network Bayerischer Rundfunk and got picked up by the national TV station Pier111.
Franz spent three years in Munich where she worked at the German TV giant Constantin Entertainment as a casting assistant and project manager (2006-2007),as well as a production assistant for Buetow Mainusch Productions. She was cast in the comedy "Blindflug," which was showcased at the Berlin Film Festival in 2007. Later that year, Franz landed her first leading role on a major television network, starring as "Jennifer Miller" in the popular television movie "Rosamunde Pilcher."
In 2009, Franz moved to Los Angeles and took classes at the Ivana Chubbuck Studio. Since then, she made her Hollywood debut by appearing in the David Fincher film, "The Social Network," starring Jesse Eisenberg and Justin Timberlake, took on a small role on the television series "Castle" and went on to star in the feature film "Grey Sheep," which premiered at the Max Ophuls Festival, Saarbrucken.
Franz also founded Triple Threat Pictures in 2009, which has produced the comedy web series "Holly Would Show" and the award-winning short film "A Child" - both of which she wrote, directed, and produced. The production company has since produced numerous award-winning commercials, music videos and completed their first longer film "Chew." Current projects in development include two feature films and a comedy TV show.
