Jesse Eisenberg is a renowned movie actor, celebrated for his Academy Award-nominated portrayal of Mark Zuckerberg in the 2010 film The Social Network. His curly hair and fast-talking voice have become iconic in the film industry. In addition to his notable role as Mark Zuckerberg, he has starred in a diverse range of films, including The Squid and the Whale, Adventureland, The Education of Charlie Banks, 30 Minutes or Less, Now You See Me, and Zombieland. Furthermore, he has played the role of Lex Luthor in the 2016 film Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice.
Born on October 5, 1983, in Queens, New York, Jesse Adam Eisenberg was raised in East Brunswick Township, New Jersey. His mother, Amy (Fishman),was a professional clown who entertained children at birthday parties for 20 years, while his father, Barry Eisenberg, worked as a hospital administrator before becoming a college professor. Jesse has two sisters, Kerri and Hallie Eisenberg, a former child star. The family has Jewish roots, tracing their ancestry back to Poland, Russia, and Ukraine.
Jesse attended East Brunswick High School, where he didn't particularly enjoy his academic experience. However, he discovered his passion for performing at a young age, participating in children's theater from age 10. He made his professional debut in an off-Broadway play, "The Gathering", before appearing on television with a role on Fox's Get Real in 1999. Although the show was canceled the following year, Jesse continued to pursue his acting career, landing his first film leading role in the 2002 film Roger Dodger. He received an award for "Most Promising New Actor" at the San Diego film festival for his performance.
Jesse went on to attend the New School University in New York, where he majored in liberal arts with a focus on Democracy and Cultural Pluralism. He also studied at The New School in New York City's Greenwich Village. Although he was accepted to New York University, he declined enrollment to complete a film role. Jesse has been playing the drums since he was eight years old.
His breakthrough role came in Zombieland (2009),which was followed by his Academy Award-nominated performance in The Social Network (2010). In 2011, he voiced the character Blu, a rare blue macaw, in the film Rio and its sequel Rio 2. He starred alongside Aziz Ansari in the 2011 comedy 30 Minutes Or Less and played himself in the 2013 comedy film He's Way More Famous Than You.
