Biography

Next person biography:

Jerry Turner, a 10-year-old boy, was captivated by the scenery of the Universal Studio tour, which became the catalyst for his dream career in film. Born and raised in San Francisco, Jerry grew up in a blue-collar middle-class family where making a living in film was considered a "kooky" idea. Despite this, Jerry was a creative and active young man who spent most of his free time creating art with various mediums. He would often spend Fridays and Saturdays at the local theater, the SeaVue Twin.

After succumbing to a Catholic education, Jerry's film career began in theatre. He landed a role in the travelling production of Tony & Tina's Wedding, which led to him getting an agent in Los Angeles and moving to Hollywood. However, he struggled to find consistent work and eventually turned to selling his artwork to celebrity friends and corporations.

In 2001, Jerry opened an art gallery on the Sunset Strip above the Whiskey. He continued to study filmmaking, taking extension courses and working with renowned directing coach, Dov S-S Simens. Jerry's big break came when he decided to turn a critically acclaimed play he had acted in into a screenplay. With a budget of only $45,000, Jerry produced his first film, "Surprise, Surprise", in collaboration with the original playwright, Travis Michael Holder. The film was shot over a 10-day period and was completed on time and on budget.
