Jerry Rector was born in St. Louis, Missouri, but his childhood was spent in the Detroit suburbs, where he developed a passion for a wide range of sports, including water skiing, dirt bike riding, and scuba diving.
As he entered high school, Jerry made the move to Los Angeles, where he began to pursue his dreams of becoming a professional actor and musician. His early career saw him working in Hollywood, as well as in New York City, Vancouver, and Toronto, Canada, where he eventually became a dual Canadian citizen.
In addition to his acting career, Jerry also began to make a name for himself behind the camera, working as a writer, director, and producer in the film industry. His work took him overseas, where he collaborated with international stars such as Jean-Claude Van Damme in "Double Impact" and Lee Byung-Hun in "The Man Standing Next".
Throughout his career, Jerry has had the privilege of working alongside some of the most talented individuals in the industry, including Patrick Stewart, Cardi B, Jack Lemmon, Walter Matthau, John Rhys-Davies, Nicolas Cage, Jennifer Jason Leigh, Jennifer Beals, Harvey Keitel, Rod Steiger, and Cheech Marin, to name just a few.
As a musician, Jerry is a skilled drummer, percussionist, and singer who has had the opportunity to perform with some of the biggest names in the music industry. His collaborations include playing with singer Chaka Khan, guitarist Robbie Kreiger (The Doors),keyboardist Patrick Moraz (Yes),drummer Vinnie Appice (Black Sabbath/Dio),saxophonist Sal Marquez (Frank Zappa/Dave Grusin),Grammy Award-winning guitarist Olivier Scoazec (Buckwheat Zydeco),and guitar virtuoso Del Casher (Elvis Presley),also known as "Papa Wah Wah", the inventor of the famous "Wah Wah" pedal.
