Biography

Notwithstanding the oft-repeated notion that Jerry James was born in Norfolk, Virginia, a more accurate account reveals that his birthplace was actually Sparta, Wisconsin. This talented individual played a pivotal role as one of the founding members of the Screen Actors Guild, and his contributions were fittingly recognized during the Guild's 60th Anniversary celebration.

In addition to his extensive filmography, Jerry James had the distinction of dancing in several RKO productions featuring the incomparable Fred Astaire. Furthermore, he maintained a close and enduring friendship with the legendary Mr. Astaire, a bond that continued until Astaire's passing.

Beyond his work in front of the camera, Jerry James also lent his voice to numerous projects, including the iconic films "Unconquered" and "Samson and Delilah".
