Biography

Jeremy Kewley was born and raised in Melbourne, Australia. He made his professional acting debut at the age of 14 in the 1976 film "The Devil's Playground", directed by Fred Schepisi, which won the Australian Film Institute Award for Best Film of 1976.

He went on to star in "Mad Dog Morgan" (1976) alongside Dennis Hopper and Jack Thompson. While still in school at Melbourne's prestigious Haileybury College, Kewley was cast in various films and television series in Melbourne and eventually moved to Sydney to star in the ill-fated television series "Arcade" (1980).

Returning to Melbourne, Kewley spent the next decade working regularly as an actor, writer, and producer. He won numerous awards for his television commercials and short films, as well as Australian television documentaries "Funny by George: The George Wallace Story" (1999) and "Young Talent Time Tells All" (2001).

Kewley spent many years performing on stage in comedy shows, which he also wrote and directed, and gained a reputation as one of Australia's foremost television audience warm-up comedians. He worked on various television shows, including "Young Talent Time" (1971) and "The Footy Show" (1994),and performed in numerous live specials.

In 1994, Kewley was cast as one of the leads in the television series "Janus", which brought him back into the spotlight as a dramatic actor. He went on to play recurring roles in "Blue Heelers" (1994) and "Stingers" (1998),and appeared in various other Australian television series, including "McLeod's Daughters" (2001),"Very Small Business" (2008),and "Whatever Happened to That Guy?" (2009).

Kewley has also appeared in several Australian and US films, including "Amy" (1997),"Disappearance" (2002),"The Extreme Team" (2003),"10Terrorists" (2012),"Frank & Jerry" (2011),and "The Legend Maker" (2014).
